TRUE LIFT MOVERS
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY
These Terms and Conditions outline the responsibilities of both parties to ensure a smooth, safe, and efficient moving experience. By confirming your booking with True Lift Movers, you acknowledge that you have read and agreed to the following terms.
SECTION 1: TAXES
1.1 HST:
All quoted prices are exclusive of HST. Applicable taxes will be added to the final invoice.
SECTION 2: DEPOSITS
2.1 Booking Deposit:
A deposit equivalent to the first hour of service is required to secure your booking and will be applied toward your final bill.
2.2 Payment Methods:
Deposits can be made via credit card (Visa / MasterCard) or Interac e-transfer. We do not accept AMEX.
2.3 E-Transfer Deposits:
E-transfer deposits require a minimum 3-hour deposit.

2.4 Refund Policy:
Deposits are refundable with at least 7 days’ notice, subject to a $35 administration fee.
2.5 Same-Day Cancellation:
Deposits are non-refundable if cancellation occurs on the scheduled moving day. Additional fees equivalent to 2 hours of service may apply.
2.6 Cancellations While En Route:
If the cancellation occurs after the moving team is en route or has arrived, the client will be charged for 3 hours of service at the booked rate, plus the agreed travel fee.
SECTION 3: FACTORS AFFECTING SERVICE DURATION
Service time may vary due to:
- Client preparedness (packing done in advance)
- Distance between truck and property, stairs, or elevators
- Parking availability
- Traffic, distance, and real estate delays
- Weather conditions
- Heavy or oversized items (>50 lbs)
SECTION 4: BILLING
4.1 Hourly Billing:
Billing starts when the crew arrives at the pickup location and ends when the move is complete and equipment is returned. Time is billed in 1 Hour increments after the minimum.
4.2 Estimates:
Estimates are based on client-provided information and our experience. They are not guaranteed.
4.3 Breaks:
- Moves >3 hours → 10–15 minute paid break
- Moves >5 hours → 15–30 minute unpaid break
(In accordance with Ontario Labour Laws)
4.4 Taxes & Gratuity:
Applicable taxes apply. Gratuities are appreciated but not included.
SECTION 5: PAYMENT
5.1 Full Payment:
Due upon completion of services. An itemized invoice will be emailed.
5.2 Accepted Methods:
- Cash → 5% discount applied
- Interac e-transfer → no extra fee
- Credit/Debit Cards → card processing fee applied to customer
5.3 Final Bill:
The final bill is non-negotiable.
5.4 Late Payments:
$20 daily fee on overdue balances. Accounts over 30 days may be sent to collections.
5.5 Outstanding Invoices:
All previous invoices must be settled before new services are provided.
SECTION 6: PARKING
Legal parking must be available. Any parking fees or tickets incurred will be added to the final bill.
SECTION 7: ELEVATOR BOOKINGS
- Client must ensure elevator access at pickup and delivery.
- Booking must match the estimated service time.
- Inform True Lift Movers of any restrictions or special requirements.
- Certificate of Insurance available with 7-day notice ($50 fee).
SECTION 8: DISASSEMBLY & REASSEMBLY
- Must notify in advance if disassembly/reassembly is needed.
- New furniture assembly (flat-pack) is not included unless specified.
SECTION 9: CLIENT RESPONSIBILITIES
- Client or authorized representative must be present.
- Disclose all relevant details: stairs, elevators, inventory.
- Pack items before move or arrange packing service.
Failure to comply may result in additional charges (3-hour minimum per extra crew member).
SECTION 10: PROTECTION PLAN
10.1 Standard Coverage:
$0.60 per pound per article.
Exclusions include:
- Client-packed boxes
- Electronics/internal damage
- Fragile/unprotected items
- Pre-existing damage
- Valuables (cash, jewelry, artwork)
- Stone/glass furniture
10.2 Upgraded Plans:
Available on request for full-value coverage.
10.3 Claims:
- Submit within 7 days of move
- Retain damaged items until resolved
SECTION 12: WALL MOUNTING
- Unmounting TVs, pictures, mirrors included
- Wall mounting is additional and must be scheduled
SECTION 13: STORAGE SERVICES
- Prohibited items: perishables, hazardous, illegal goods
- Rent due monthly, same day as move date
- Inventory documented with stickers
- Partial retrieval: $75/hour per mover
Non-Payment: Lien rights apply under Warehousemen’s Lien Act
SECTION 14: ADDITIONAL TERMS
- Unsafe conditions → work may pause or stop
- Client responsible for infestations (bed bugs, cockroaches)
- We do not move: hazardous materials, pets, firearms, valuables
- We do not handle: appliances, plumbing, electrical
By booking, you agree to these terms, the hourly billing, and the payment policies including discounts or card fees.
